Personal Training vs. Group Training: Which Is Right for You?

Quick answerChoose one-on-one for custom programming and fast technique gains; choose buddy or group for lower cost, energy and built-in accountability.

“Should I get a personal trainer or join a group?” I hear it all the time. Both work — they just solve different problems. Here’s how to choose.

Choose personal training if…

  • You’re new, returning from a break or managing past injuries.
  • You want programming built around your body and schedule.
  • You need nutrition coaching and daily accountability.
  • You have a specific goal and timeline.

One-on-one sessions are $45 each, or $120 for a 3–4 session package. See personal training in Jacksonville.

Choose buddy or group training if…

  • You work out better with company.
  • You want to split the cost with a friend, partner or teammates.
  • You like friendly competition and high energy.

Buddy (2–3 people) and group (4+) sessions are $30 per person. Read more on group & buddy training or try a $20 bootcamp.

Why not both?

Many clients combine a few one-on-one sessions to learn technique and set goals, then train in a group to stay motivated and keep costs down.

The best program is the one you’ll actually show up for.
